It has come to my attention that some people think that I'm involved with the group called SCRAG. I have no idea how or why this latest rumor was started but I am not part of that group and don't know who is.

This is true. She has nothing to do with the blog or the t-shirts yet we hope that she supports the movement.

Gilman Boathouse Rules of Use

The following Rules have just been proposed in secret and will be effect when voted on by the Council in executive session.


(I) For now only The Mayor, Council Members, The DDA Executive Director, and The City Manager will have keys to the property. Current use of the party house and boat slips will be reserved for the aforesaid original members, their families and friends. They will be known as the original members.(this does not include Bird and Howell).

(II) Use of the property will be expanded immediately to include designated real estate brokers and developers.

(III) Once the $8,759,989.99 needed to complete the project
has been spent, consideration will be given to expanding the "private" membership base.

(IV) There will always be two levels of use, private and public.

(V) Once the envisioned Boathouse Convention Center is completed, consideration will be given to opening designated areas to the general public.

(VI) If the boathouse is a rockin', don't come a knockin'

Remember that scene in Animal House during a meeting of the Intra fraternity council when John Belushi and his frat brother starting covering their mouths and clearing their throats and disguising the words “bullshit”? Wonder if that would work at the Monday night City Council Meeting when the four in the middle and the mayor start lying and making excuses? Just a thought.    

Got Your SCRAG rear window decal?

Put the mouse tip on the SCRAG logo at the top left of the page, right click, then "save as". When the SAVE IMAGE box appears, select the  "Desktop" folder on the left side of the box, then click save. That will put the logo on your desktop screen. Now you can select (right click) the image on your desktop and open it with Picture Manager or Paint. Then you can print it and there you have it, your SCRAG decal. Use transparent packing tape (available at Dollar General) to attach it to the inside of your rear window. You can even take a copy to your favorite T-Shirt maker (Lil Seabag on Charlie Smith Sr Highway/Spur 40 does great work) and get a shirt to wear Monday night!  

St Marys City Council Meeting

Monday August 9th at 6. Be prepared for a long meeting, limited space, and uncomfortable temperature.
